Dear gluten-free Diary

I’m weird in a sense that I love barbeque chips, but hate barbeque sauce. I love me them barbeque chips. They are so good. I love the Lays brand, but about a year ago at Costco they had some Kettle Brand barbeque chips. Here in Spokane, Whole Foodsless as you all know, Costco is the pride and joy of grocery shopping. It’s the one place where there is a bit of variety. Sadly not a ton of gluten-free, but a lot of meat and fish, fresh fruit, and since last year amazing barbeque chips!!!

Gluten-free of course, Kettle Brand give the Lays Brand barbeque chips a run for their money. The kettle brand barbeque is a million times better. Sadly they are only around in the summer time. Once fall comes around these bad boys are gone till next year. So if you like how these amazing chips are sounding stock up while you can. Drive that car to your nearest Costco ASAP!!!

Dear gluten-free diary

Sorry I haven’t posted anything in forever I’ve been super busy finishing school.  It doesn’t really feel like summer for me. The school year went by so fast! You also have to put in to consideration how absolutely terrible Spokane weather is. Mother nature is bipolar in washington or something. It’s either sunny and super, rainy and random, or snowy and sick. Sometimes all in the same day. Eeeeew I get sick just thinking about snow. It’s beautiful during the winter, but not in spring and summer seriously mother nature? I mean it’s June and 50 degrees outside. What is this?

I can’t wait when it gets hot enough to go to the lake and swim, have barbecues, and roast marshmallows. I found the best gluten-free buns. There great with burgers, and sloppy joes. I first tasted them at a restaurant called Twigs here in Spokane. They taste exactly like gluten-filled ones…..so I’m told I can’t remember what gluten-filled anything taste like. I only remember liking what it taste like. Do you feel the same way? Maybe I’m just weird?

Anyways, the buns are from the brand kinnikinnick. They are so good!!! I strongly recommend them!!!

Larabars

I have told you of the amazingly tasty Bumble Bar, but friends there is another GF bar just as good!! The Larabar is full of flavor, and has a ton of different kinds including cashew cookie, my fave, and apple pie!!! It’s dairy-free, gluten-free, soy-free, vegan, non GMO, and kosher. It’s totally awesome, and a great snack on the go! So if you’re looking for a rockin new snack look no further!!!

GF Candy

Sorry I haven’t posted anything in a few days. I just couldn’t think of anything to write about. In the process of trying to figure this out I stumbled upon a list of gluten-free candies. Random I know, but this isn’t just 5 or 6 candies, it’s more like 100 or even more!! I have always wondered if the candy that I like is as gluten-free as I think it is. I hope this clears the air for all of us…..enjoy your movie.

Milk duds………yummmm……….The world’s best candy! No questions asked!!! ; )

IN-N-OUT BURGER

Who hasn’t heard of the famous burger joint IN-N-OUT BURGER? Well, gluten-free people if you haven’t already heard, IN-N-OUT is a fast food place where the thought of cross-contaminated oil isn’t needed. They cut their potatoes right there in the store so they are really fresh!  Plus they only serve three things: burgers fries and drinks.

The only bummer….it’s found in four states on the West Coast Arizona, California, Utah, and Nevada, but if you’re ever in the area it’s a stop worth taking! Their burgers are phenomenal! Although we can’t eat the bun, the protein style, or lettuce wrapped burger, is again phenomenal. I love IN-N-OUT!

Even better in person!

GLuten-Free Ice Cream

Good Karma Organic Rice Divine Ice Cream!!! Holy cow I finally found a good gluten-free ice cream. An added plus, it’s dairy-free too for all the GF and DF (dairy-free) people out there. I am DF too so I can relate to the no more ice cream pain!! This brand doesn’t have the same old vanilla and chocolate, but there’s Mud Pie, Banana Fudge, and my fave Carrot cake. Seriously try it!!

  • Udi’s gluten-free bread–alright I’m peeved if you haven’t bought it yet!!
  • Roads End Organics—penne and chreese, yes chreese, organic brown rice pasta. It’s cheddar style. This is just a fancy name for GF macaroni and cheese, but still it’s the best.

  • Quinoa–any brand anywhere, anytime get some!! It’s the best. It’s great when used as rice. My doctor also told me that Quinoa is great in the morning with cinnamon and sugar with fruit. Let me tell ya it is!

Sorry for the random number of 13, but I couldn’t add anything else because nothing could compete with these foods. I hope you liked my top 13.  Up next is  the “Better Left On The Shelf,” or worst GF foods!

Udi’s Bread

I hope you were wondering what that delicious looking bread is on the right side –> of my home page! That my friends is called Udi’s bread. If your on the lazy side, like me, and you got tired of baking your own GF bread Udi’s is the cure. It’s the best!! You can just cut a piece off and eat it then and there. You don’t have to wait until it cools, or eat it with something on it because it taste awful. I have done that way to many times, but I don’t want to waste an expensive GF bread that I took all that time baking!! I use Udi’s for my sandwiches everyday and trust me it’s worth every penny!!

Bumble Bars

If you’re looking for a hardy GF snack on the go, try a Bumble Bar. Oh my goodness talk about gluten-free goodness!! There are lots of flavors like chocolate and lemon. Not only are GF, but they are also vegan. My all time favorite is Cashew. Try it!!
